100 Open.Theremin.UNOs shipped

I am happy and proud to announce that I shipped the 100st Open.Theremin.UNO today. The global community is growing and many wonderful new theremins have been built. Thank you for all the positive feedback and your contributions. For now I am sold out with the second batch.  I am planing on producing a new batch (special NODE Festival Edition) of boards that will be ready by mid of January 2014.

Musician and audio equipement designer Yasushi Yoshida built an amazing Open.Theremin. His built with a half-moon-shaped wood housing and titanium-based alloy antennas is a masterpiece of craftsmanship. He is working on many long awaited extensions to the theremin. Laut Statistik sprechen 55% der Besucher der Open.Theremin Website Deutsch. So dachte ich ist es doch mal an der Zeit ein paar Worte auf Deutsch zu schreiben. Hallo und herzlich Willkommen. GaudiLabs, das Labor für Dinge die Spass machen ist in Luzern in der Schweiz zuhause. Die Inspiration für das Theremin Projekt habe ich in der Schweizerischen Gesellschaft für Mechatronische Kunst (SGMK) bekommen in der experimentierfreudige Musiker neue Sythis und Instrumente bauen und Technikbegeisterte sich Austauschen. Nach einigen Jahren Entwicklung ist nun das Arduino kompatible Open.Theremin.UNO entstanden das mir sehr Freude macht und noch viel Potential zur Weiterentwicklung hat. Und neu hier gleich noch eine Deutsche Anleitung. Wo kann man das Theremin kaufen? Im neuen "Store für kleine Auflagen", gibt auch ein schönes Weihnachtsgeschenk oder natürlich zum selber bauen, alles ist quelloffen und unter freier Lizenz. Viel Spass und ich freue mich auch über Mails auf Deutsch.

Laser Cut Case

A simple laser cut case for the Open.Theremin.UNO. When I was at the FabLab Lucern a few days ago I made this vertical stand that just holds the arduino and the sield. The case has openings for the two antennas, the audio jack, the CV jack and the USB and power plug of the Arduino. To press the little button on the shield I use a 5mm LED where I cut the legs and stick it through the hole in the front plate :-) The design files are on Thingiverse.com - Thing 180790.

New Small Batch Store

The first boards of the new batch are produced and work perfectly well. The boards are now available in the new "Small Batch Store" with pay-pal order button. All Open.Theremin.UNO documents (layout, schematics, bill of materials) are up to date with the newest version 1.2. And I have plenty of new ideas (MIDI, PD Patch) and I am happy about all your help, contributions and feed backs.
